Joint police unit to be formed for CPEC Motorway security to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow along the route.
The Dera police and Motorway Police have decided to establish a joint unit dedicated to ensuring the security of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Motorway and the safety of its travelers.
This decision was reached during a meeting led by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Range, Syed Ashfaq Anwar, following directives from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Inspector General of Police, Zulfiqar Hameed. The meeting was attended by DPO Dera Sahibzada Sajjad Ahmed, SP Motorway Police Atique-ur-Rehman, SP Paharpur, SDPOs from the Paharpur Circle, and other relevant officials.
RPO Anwar emphasized that protecting the CPEC Motorway and ensuring the safety of commuters is a core responsibility of the police, and instructed that all available resources be mobilized to achieve this goal.
The participants agreed to form a joint unit of Motorway and District Police to handle emergencies on the route. In addition to joint police unit being formed for CPEC Motorway security, plans were set in motion to repair fencing along both sides of the motorway to enhance safety and prevent accidents.
Authorities also resolved to maintain the security of the CPEC Motorway and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow along the corridor.
