Pakistan’s salt exports to China surged 26% from January to October 2025, reaching $6.04 million and nearly 39.93 million kilograms. The growth is attributed to strong demand for both industrial and food-grade Himalayan pink salt, which continues to gain popularity in China.
Experts say better trade facilitation and stronger business ties between Pakistan and China have played a key role in boosting exports. The trend reflects the potential of Pakistan’s salt industry to expand in international markets and meet rising global demand.
The upcoming Food and Agri Expo in Karachi (Nov 25-27) will host a visiting Chinese business delegation. Pakistani salt companies are expected to explore new deals and joint ventures, further enhancing trade cooperation and positioning Pakistan as a key supplier under the CPEC framework.
