Abbas Araghchi, the foreign minister of Iran, has thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their strong solidarity during the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel. In a message shared on X, he expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support against what he described as external aggression.
The tensions escalated after the United States and Israel carried out coordinated strikes on Iranian military sites in late February, triggering retaliation from Tehran. The confrontation has raised concerns about regional stability and disruptions to global trade routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz.
Officials say Islamabad has adopted a cautious diplomatic approach, calling for restraint and dialogue while expressing solidarity with Iran. Pakistan has emphasized the need to prevent further escalation and protect regional stability.
