On Tuesday, Chinese tech giant Huawei unveiled a pioneering tri-fold smartphone in Shenzhen, southern China, showcasing several technological advancements, including a dual-hinge mechanism and innovative screen-bending capabilities.
Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s executive director, emphasized that continuous technological innovation is the key driver behind the development of foldable smartphones, a market segment known for its high concentration of advanced technology.
According to the global research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), China’s foldable phone market experienced a 114.5 percent surge in shipments in 2023, with over 7 million units shipped.
