The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has officially launched the application process for the “Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2024-25,” inviting Pakistani students to apply online. The Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC), operating under the Government of China, is collaborating with HEC to facilitate Pakistani students and scholars in pursuing studies and research opportunities at Chinese universities. HEC, representing the Government of Pakistan, serves as the nominating agency for these scholarships in the upcoming academic year.
According to HEC guidelines, the deadline for submitting online applications on its portal for CSC scholarships is December 28, 2023. Eligible candidates for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2024-25 are required to possess a valid Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) or University Scholastic Aptitude Test (USAT) score obtained after January 01, 2022.
Notably, a send-off ceremony for 50 Pakistani scholars, who were recipients of the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship Programme, was held at HEC, Islamabad, on August 25, 2023. During the ceremony, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of HEC, emphasized that the current number of Pakistani students in China has exceeded 30,000. He highlighted that some of them are recipients of Chinese government scholarships, while others have received scholarships directly from various provinces, universities, and companies.
Since 2019, the Chinese Government has been offering scholarships to aspiring Pakistani students, covering a broad range of educational pursuits, including Undergraduate, Master, and PhD programs. Designated Chinese Universities provide diverse academic programs in fields such as Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Economics, Legal Studies, Management, Education, History, Literature, Philosophy, and Fine Arts, among others, for scholarship recipients at all levels.
