Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated on Tuesday that the Gwadar International Airport will significantly benefit not only Balochistan’s economy but the entire nation. During a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad, he emphasized that the airport, built with a 230 million dollar Chinese grant, is a generous gift from China and should be honored. He also expressed enthusiasm about the commencement of flight operations from the airport.
The Prime Minister condemned the elements responsible for killings in Balochistan, labeling them as not only foes of Balochistan but also enemies of Pakistan. He further stated that obstructing the completion of Gwadar Port is an act of hostility against the country and that certain forces oppose the operationalization of the port.
Regarding the growth in IT exports, Sharif expressed satisfaction with the record increase of 348 million dollars in December of the previous year. He urged for continued efforts to boost IT exports. He also highlighted the government’s focus on promoting electric vehicles and its active steps to advance this initiative.
