Abbottabad’s Deputy Commissioner (DC), Khalid Iqbal, announced on Tuesday that the government will undertake the reconstruction and renovation of schools that have been partially impacted by the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
Chairing a meeting of the District Steering Committee of the Education Department, the DC issued directives concerning the provision of facilities in local schools. He acknowledged that some schools had faced challenges due to the passage of CPEC projects and, as a result, these schools would undergo reconstruction and renovation.
Furthermore, he provided guidance on several important matters, including the appointment of administrative staff in schools, ensuring a consistent supply of water and electricity, maintaining transformers, and improving schools in areas affected by CPEC projects, all of which are being carried out for the greater benefit of society.
The DC reiterated the district administration’s dedication to prioritizing the delivery of quality education and facilities to students. Khalid Iqbal stressed the importance of enhancing the quality of education, ensuring essential facilities in schools, and adopting modern teaching methods that align with the needs of today’s students.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the department to create a comprehensive action plan for the transparent distribution of syllabus books and the effective management of schools. During the meeting, Aiza Qureshi, the Director of Education Monitoring Authority, provided an update on the progress and performance since the previous Steering Committee meeting.
Notable participants in the meeting included officials such as ADC Relief and Human Rights Abbottabad, District Education Officers, Deputy District Education Officers, as well as representatives from the Communication and Works Department and the sports department, among others from the Education Department.
