The Gwadar Development Authority has launched a six-week internship and professional training program for students of University of Gwadar to strengthen practical skills and workplace readiness.
Focus on Youth Development and Capacity Building
The program, organized by GDA’s Human Resource Management Department, includes 16 male and female students. Moreover, the initiative aims to connect academic learning with practical experience across public sector institutions.
Training Across Multiple Departments
According to officials, students will receive hands-on exposure in Information Technology, Finance, Administration, and Environment departments. Consequently, participants will gain a broader understanding of development planning and government operations.
Climate and Sustainability Sessions Included
As part of the internship, students attended a specialized session on climate change and environmental sustainability in coastal Balochistan. During the session, experts discussed climate adaptation strategies, environmental challenges, and sustainable development approaches.

Field Visits to Key Development Sites
In addition to classroom sessions, the program includes visits to mangrove plantation areas, fish harbor facilities, fish processing sites, sewage treatment projects, parks, and sports infrastructure developments. Therefore, students will experience how development projects operate on the ground.
Supporting Future Talent in Gwadar
Overall, the internship reflects ongoing efforts to build local talent and encourage youth participation in Gwadar’s development process. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to prepare students for future professional opportunities while strengthening community engagement.
