Four Levies personnel martyred in Khuzdar attack as authorities have suspected that it was a deliberate strike by unidentified gunmen.
Four Levies personnel were martyred in a deadly gun attack on a check post in Khuzdar’s Nal area on Friday, in what authorities suspect was a deliberate strike by unidentified gunmen. The assault occurred at the Samand Levies check post, which lies along the vital China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route.
Security sources reported that the attackers unleashed indiscriminate gunfire at the check post before escaping without detection. The area was later sealed off by law enforcement agencies, who initiated a search operation to track down the perpetrators.
The fallen Levies personnel were identified as Maqbool, Khuda Bakhsh, Ejaz Ahmed, and Muhammad Ali. Their bodies were transported to Khuzdar district hospital for necessary procedures.
No militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. However, the region has seen a growing number of assaults targeting security forces and CPEC linked infrastructure.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack, and security measures have been increased in the surrounding areas.
As four Levies personnel martyred in Khuzdar attack, the government officials have strongly condemned the killings, expressed sympathies with the families of the martyred. They also vowed to apprehend those responsible while ensuring the safety of the strategic CPEC route.
