Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its right to self-defense in accordance with the United Nations Charter.
In a post on social media platform X, he highlighted this commitment during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, held on the sidelines of the 51st OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) session in Istanbul on Sunday.
Dar strongly condemned Israel’s unjustified and illegal attacks on Iran, as well as the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, reaffirming Pakistan’s opposition to such acts of aggression.
During their meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi shared Iran’s viewpoint on the evolving dynamics of the regional security landscape.
Additionally, Ishaq Dar met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on the margins of the same OIC gathering.
Their discussions focused on the longstanding and historic relationship between Pakistan and Egypt, cooperation on bilateral fronts, the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, recent developments related to Iran, and broader regional challenges.
Both leaders expressed a firm commitment to strengthening collaboration across bilateral, regional, and multilateral platforms, emphasizing the need to work together for regional and global peace and stability.
