“Pakistan and China have a consensus on bilateral, regional and global issues. Both countries supported each other through thick and thin and the win-win project China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is fully supported by Pakistan,” reads the annual report of China Study Center (CSC), University of Peshawar.
According to the report, the all-weather strong relations of both countries are based on mutual trust, respect, and goodwill, adding that the friendly relations have become stronger with the launch of BRI and CPEC.
Professor Dr. Zahid Anwar, Director CSC, has compiled the Report 2020-21, which highlights different activities organized by the center. According to the report, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, CSC in a very short span of the time organized numerous seminars, conferences, and webinars on Pakistan and China relations and regional issues.
“To promote understanding and to strengthen collaboration in higher education, CSC is leaving no stone unturned,” said Professor Zahid Anwar. He vowed that the team of the Center will continue its academic activities to promote understanding about China in Pakistan.
According to him, under the umbrella of CPEC various MoUs have been signed between the two countries to strengthen cooperation in culture, history, science, technology, higher education, and people to people contacts. “China Study Center and Pakistan Study Center, established both in Pakistan and China will further enhance mutual cooperation,” said Mr. Anwar, adding international collaboration in higher education will galvanize development and universities together can do more to prepare their young generations for a shared and mutually enriching future.
