Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) President Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday afternoon said that China’s peaceful rise as the world’s second largest economy and a paramount global power owes itself to the vision and dedication of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Shehbaz Sharif, who is presently the Opposition Leader in National Assembly, expressed gratitude to the international department of the Communist Party of China for extending the invitation to the PML-N leaders on the historic 100th anniversary of CPC.
Addressing ‘CCP and World Political Parties Summit’ here Shehbaz Sharif said it was a matter of great pleasure and personal privilege to speak at the summit.
He said this gesture spoke volumes about the excellent relationship that CPC and PML-N continue to enjoy at a party-to-party level for the last few decades.
He said over the past few years the two parties have collaborated very closely at different levels and have provided a strong underpinning to China-Pakistan relationship.
Sharif, a former Punjab Chief Minister, said that the theme of the summit ‘People’s Wellbeing, the Responsibilities of Political Parties’ was most apt and relevant to the realities of contemporary times.
He said CPC had indeed led from the front in promoting the cause of wellbeing of the Chinese people as well as the international community. “CPC and China are two sides of the same coin and it is nearly impossible to distinguish between them,” he said.
Shehbaz Sharif said the story of China was the story of the Chinese Communist Party. “The story of epic success is achieved not merely through chance but through dogged resolve and masterful planning. I first learnt about CPC when I was a young schoolboy and was fascinated with pictures of little children holding a red book,” he recalled.
“Two elements have made China great, the endless energy, creativity and hard work of the people, and the generations of leadership provided by CPC. China’s peaceful rise as the world’s second largest economy and a paramount global power owes itself to the vision and dedication of CPC,” he added.
