On March 27, 2025 , the Chinese Consulate General in Lahore held its first commendation event for the police stationed there since its establishment. Consul General Zhao Shiren attended and delivered a speech. More than 30 people attended the event, including Commander of the Special Protection Unit (SPU) of Punjab Police, Mumtaz, Deputy Inspector General of the Elite Force, Faisal, Director of the Lahore Traffic Police, Wahid, Deputy Consul General Cao Ke, and award-winning police officers.
Consul General Zhao Shiren congratulated the winning police officers and spoke highly of their efforts to protect the safety of the Consulate General and Chinese citizens and institutions in the consular district. He hoped that the security forces and law enforcement forces in Punjab would be loyal to their duties and fulfill their responsibilities to provide better protection for the interests and safety of Chinese citizens, projects and institutions. Consul General Zhao strongly condemned the terrorist attack and hijacking of the Jaffar train in Balochistan Province, and said that China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism and firmly supports Pakistan in carrying out the fight against terrorism to the end.
The award-winning police officers thanked the Consulate General for its concern and recognition, and expressed that they would continue to fulfill their protection responsibilities in their posts, bring glory to Pakistan, and contribute to the friendship and cooperation between China and Pakistan.
