CISCE 2024 highlights global supply chain cooperation and provides a comprehensive view of the country.
The second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), the world’s first national-level event dedicated to supply chains, opened on Tuesday in Beijing. It serves as a major platform for business matchmaking and investment, aiming to foster cross-industry collaboration.
With the theme “Connecting the World for a Shared Future,” this year’s expo highlights the interconnectivity of supply chains. The event’s layout and exhibition zones cover key processes throughout the supply chain, from upstream to downstream, providing a comprehensive view of the industry.
Additionally, exhibitors at the event are showcasing their products alongside upstream and downstream partners, emphasizing the collaborative efforts driving supply chain innovation and development.
Running until November 30, the 2024 CISCE brings together over 620 companies and institutions, promoting global trade, investment, and innovation in the supply chain ecosystem. Over 60% of exhibitors are industry leaders, including Fortune 500 companies.
This year’s event has seen a 20% increase in participation, with strong representation from the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries. The proportion of international exhibitors has risen from 26% to 32%, with nearly equal representation from Europe and the U.S., alongside over 40 BRI nations.
Further, Zhang Shaogang, deputy director of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, noted that this growth in participation reflects the global demand for supply chain cooperation and trust in China’s development and the CISCE’s role.
Moreover, Apple CEO Tim Cook, who visited the CISCE, highlighted China’s importance as a key market and supply chain partner. He reaffirmed Apple’s commitment to continued investment in R&D in China, emphasizing the mutual benefits of the company’s growth alongside China’s.
More than 100 countries and organizations are expected to attend the expo. China is also providing special support to enterprises from less-developed regions, offering free exhibition booths to help them participate.
