Chinese vice president meets president of 79th Session of UNGA in Beijing emphasizing China’s active participation in the United Nations.
Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Philemon Yang, President of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, on Thursday in Beijing.
Han emphasized that China is a steadfast supporter and active participant in the United Nations, which he described as a symbol of multilateralism.
With the 80th anniversary of the UN’s founding approaching next year, Han highlighted China’s support for the UN’s central role in international matters. He affirmed China’s commitment to upholding the UN’s authority, participating in global governance reforms, and promoting a fairer and more balanced global governance system.
Philemon Yang reiterated that the UN will adhere to General Assembly Resolution 2758 and uphold the one-China principle. He expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation with China, aiming to contribute more significantly to global peace and shared development.
