Chinese vice premier meets ASEAN leaders attending 21st China-ASEAN Expo including leaders from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.
Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang met with leaders from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos on Tuesday during their visit to Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, for the 21st China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.
In his meeting with Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ho Duc Phoc, Ding expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with Vietnam in alignment with the strategic goals established by both countries’ leadership. He emphasized the importance of consolidating political trust, enhancing developmental synergy, advancing infrastructure connectivity, and improving economic and trade cooperation to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future.
Ho Duc Phoc praised China’s significant development achievements and expressed Vietnam’s willingness to collaborate with China to achieve more practical results across various sectors for the benefit of both nations and their peoples.
During his discussion with Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Vongsey Vissoth, Ding stated that China aims to implement the key agreements reached by the leaders of both nations. He highlighted the intent to align the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation with Cambodia’s development strategies and expand collaborations in emerging sectors such as green development and the digital economy, while encouraging Chinese investments in Cambodia.
Vongsey Vissoth affirmed Cambodia’s commitment to a friendly policy towards China and expressed readiness to enrich the Diamond Hexagon cooperation framework, working together to establish a Cambodia-China community with a shared future.
In a meeting with Laos’ Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, Ding noted that this year marks the 15th anniversary of the China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. He expressed China’s willingness to strengthen economic, trade, and investment cooperation, accelerate major project construction, and set benchmarks for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune emphasized Laos’ commitment to building a Laos-China community with a shared future and expressed interest in enhancing high-level interactions with China, deepening practical cooperation, and fostering enduring friendly relations between the two nations.
