Chinese premier stresses achieving annual development goals speaking at a State Council executive meeting,
Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the need to implement central government policies and directives to achieve the nation’s economic and social development goals for the year.
Speaking at a State Council executive meeting, Li highlighted the importance of putting into action a set of policies outlined at a recent Political Bureau meeting of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. The meeting called for effective macroeconomic regulation, policy coordination, and addressing key economic issues.
The council urged speeding up the implementation of these policies and considering new measures in response to evolving circumstances. Additionally, it stressed the need to accelerate the execution of 102 key projects under the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).
The meeting also focused on promoting the development of a comprehensive child care services system and reviewed progress in strengthening China’s intellectual property rights capabilities.
Draft revisions to the law on science and technology popularization and the law against unfair competition were discussed and provisionally approved for submission to the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress for further review.
