Chinese premier says to advance China-Belarus high-level partnership in his meeting with the Belarusian President.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang stated on Thursday that China is prepared to collaborate with Belarus to elevate the high-level development of their all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.
Li made these comments during his meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the Palace of Independence in Minsk.
Li conveyed warm greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to Lukashenko. He also noted that despite changes in the international landscape, China-Belarus relations have remained dynamic and robust since diplomatic ties were established 32 years ago.
Both nations have consistently pursued mutual benefit and shared development, with their practical cooperation delivering significant results and tangible benefits to their peoples. Li highlighted that the two heads of state met in Astana this July and made strategic plans to further deepen bilateral relations.
China is eager to work with Belarus to implement the key agreements made by their leaders, further strengthen political mutual trust, enhance mutually beneficial cooperation, and advance the high-level development of their all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership to better serve their peoples, Li said.
Li emphasized that China will continue to strongly support Belarus in following a development path that suits its national conditions. He added that China is ready to align its development strategies more closely with Belarus, promote steady expansion of trade, effectively implement projects like the China-Belarus Industrial Park, and deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Li also mentioned that China seeks to enhance multilateral cooperation with Belarus, jointly uphold the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, advocate for a fair and orderly multipolar world, and support a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization. These efforts aim to steer global governance towards greater justice and reasonableness, protecting the common interests of developing nations.
Lukashenko asked Li to convey his heartfelt greetings to Xi. He acknowledged the unwavering mutual support between the two countries on key issues of core interest, noting that Belarus-China relations are at a historic high and continue to thrive.
Lukashenko expressed deep appreciation for China’s long-term, selfless support of Belarus’s economic and social development. He added that Belarus is committed to maintaining close high-level exchanges with China and deepening practical cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, agriculture, and science and technology.
Belarus is also eager to actively engage in significant global initiatives proposed by President Xi and to contribute to the ongoing success of the Belarus-China all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership, Lukashenko said.
