The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government led by Sardar Tanveer Ilays Khan on Thursday afternoon said the Chinese nationals in AJK are safe.
Khan also ordered strict security for the Chinese brothers and sisters after the recent terrorist attack at the University of Karachi, to avert any untoward incident in the region.
Chairing a high-level meeting which was attended by the heads of various security agencies in Mirpur, Khan issued special directives to the law enforcement agencies urging them to ensure the safety of life and property of all foreigners, in particular the Chinese engineers working in different areas of the state.
The security agencies had also been directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements at all exit and entrance points of Azad Kashmir. Moreover, security had been beefed up in the state in wake of the upcoming festival of Eidul Fitr to avoid any untoward incident on the auspicious occasion.
The AJK PM said that the Chinese nationals are safe in the State and will be provided with any security they want for their satisfaction.
He maintained that China had invested huge money in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and it was Pakistan’s duty to provide security to the projects and workers.
