 Chinese investors eager to invest in the IT industry, says President Alvi

Addressing the Presidential Initiative Artificial Intelligence and Computing (PIAIC) Grand Entrance Test 2022 organized by Saylani Welfare International Trust (SWIT) in Karachi, President Arif Alvi said that Chinese investors are keen to invest in Pakistan. He stated that a large number of Chinese investors have already invested in Pakistan, that the government has made it easier for foreign investors to enter the country, and China is interested in investing in Pakistan’s IT (Information Technology) industry.

Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi said on Sunday afternoon that Chinese investors were eagerly investing in Pakistan.

Addressing the Presidential Initiative Artificial Intelligence and Computing (PIAIC) Grand Entrance Test 2022 organized by Saylani Welfare International Trust (SWIT) here at National Stadium, he mentioned that scores of Chinese investors had already invested in Pakistan.

“The government has opened the way for foreign investors and China wants to invest in the Pakistani IT (Information Technology) industry,” he maintained.

Advising the students, President Dr Arif Alvi stressed that they should work hard and focus on IT education in the country and once they have completed, they would avail thousands of opportunities in this sector across the world.

“Financial facilities under KJP (Kamayab Jawan Program) are very easy to avail and it is interest-free,” the Presidentcontended.

He noted that there was a need for 80 million people having expertise in the IT sector across the world. “You would have not only job opportunities but also entrepreneurship opportunities. The government is extending all kinds of support to the IT sector and laws have been made to facilitate the growth of this sector,” he informed.

President Alvi observed that besides, the government had initiated some programs like the Digital Skill Program which was free and imparting IT education through online classes and thousands of students had got benefits from this program and were earning dollars.

“After completing your training or education in the IT sector, you might need financial support to start entrepreneurship, he uttered and suggested that you don’t need to worry because the government has also launched KJP to extend the financial support up to Rs 1 million,” he underscored.

He added that the youth of Pakistan were striving for knowledge and this was a changing Pakistan. “So let the youth forget other things and young people should only focus on their training and education,” he emphasized.

More than 25,000 students from different parts of Sindh province participated in the Presidential Initiative Artificial Intelligence and Computing (PIAIC) Grand Entrance Test 2022.
