Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized that G20 members must embrace their role as major powers and enhance global governance through a spirit of partnership.
Speaking at a G20 foreign ministers meeting during the UN General Assembly, Wang stressed that the G20 should support UN reforms and uphold true multilateralism, avoiding selective approaches.
Wang also highlighted the importance of reforming global economic and financial governance, urging stronger macroeconomic policy coordination and giving developing countries a greater voice.
He called on the G20 to promote fair and non-discriminatory global trade governance while opposing protectionism.
Additionally, Wang urged G20 members to prioritize global development reforms and accelerate the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
