Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a phone conversation on Wednesday with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, criticized Israel for violating international laws and norms, stating that such actions have sharply intensified tensions in the Middle East.
He reiterated China’s call for all parties involved, particularly Israel, to immediately halt hostilities and take steps to de-escalate the situation.
At this crucial moment, Wang stressed that the international community, especially countries within the region, should strengthen their consensus and take more coordinated and unified actions.
He added that China is ready to work closely with Egypt to improve communication and coordination at multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, in a joint effort to advance peace talks and promote reconciliation.
