The Chinese Consulate in Karachi donated essential health materials and medical consumables to the Pak-China Friendship Hospital (PCFH) in Gwadar on December 24. The items provided include Dettol, Povidone-Iodine, alcohol swabs, KN95 masks, disposable face masks, safety gloves, and latex gloves.
An official from the Chinese Consulate emphasized that these medical supplies not only address the practical needs of the people in Gwadar but also serve as a source of moral support. The gesture aims to boost local confidence in contributing to regional development and fostering a brighter future for Gwadar.
Nadir Ali Baloch, Deputy Manager of Administration at PCFH, highlighted the importance of such donations in sustaining free healthcare services for the community. He noted that the 100-bed hospital, inaugurated in May this year, offers comprehensive services, including emergency, outpatient, inpatient, medical technology, administration, and logistics. Serving approximately 3,000 patients daily from Gwadar and nearby areas, the hospital has already made a significant impact.
Established under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the hospital features state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced medical equipment such as a modern laboratory, CT scanners, and ultrasound machines—all provided through Chinese government support.
Some facilities of the hospital are integrated with an existing 50-bed hospital in the area, resulting in a combined capacity of 150 beds. The expanded complex includes outpatient services, medical technology departments, and ward buildings to better serve the community’s healthcare needs.
