Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong has expressed China’s readiness to further advance the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in collaboration with Pakistan.
He emphasized the commitment to enhancing the quality and sustainability of the projects over the next decade. The ambassador believes that CPEC can evolve into a corridor of peace and cooperation, fostering mutual growth in areas like industry, agriculture, mining, science, technology, and IT.
Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi highlighted the positive impact of CPEC projects, stating that they have benefited people at the grassroots level. As CPEC enters a new phase, Pakistan aims to boost cooperation in various sectors like mining, agriculture, and IT. The focus is on improving transportation systems for more frequent people-to-people interactions and academic connections.
Foreign Secretary Syrus Qazi described CPEC as a symbol of Pakistan-China strategic cooperation, fostering regional connectivity and economic integration. He noted the transformation of Pakistan’s economic landscape over the past decade, with upgraded infrastructure and rapid development in remote regions.
The shared goal of Pakistan and China is to develop Gwadar as a key trade and connectivity hub, linking it to markets in Central Asia and the Middle East. This massive project requires strong political and public support.
