Emphasizing Pakistan’s clear and principled stance on the Taiwan question, Chairman Senate reaffirmed the country’s unwavering commitment to the One China Principle, considering it a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and aligned with the principles outlined in the UN Charter. He expressed opposition to any form of “Taiwan independence” and rejected interference in China’s internal affairs by other nations.
The Chairman expressed full support for China’s territorial integrity, particularly recognizing Taiwan as an inalienable and integral part of China. He denounced the farcical elections in Taiwan, where widespread non-participation resulted in the voices of the majority going unheard.
The meeting underscored the strategic partnership between China and Pakistan, with Chairman Senate expressing the nation’s deep regard for this relationship. China’s enduring support during challenging times was acknowledged, showcasing the depth of bilateral ties. Detailed discussions took place on the progress of vital projects, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Gwadar Port.
