Chinese Ambassador, Air Chief discuss defense cooperation as they held a crucial meeting in Islamabad.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, has praised China for its valuable contribution to Pakistan’s defence modernization and technological progress.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, who visited him in Islamabad.
The Air Chief conveyed deep appreciation to China for its consistent backing and steadfast friendship.
Referring to Pakistan and China as “Iron Brothers,” he highlighted the enduring strength of their relationship, which has grown stronger over the years and is set to deepen further through future collaboration.
During their meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on several key topics, including organizational cooperation, defence collaboration, and the shifting strategic landscape in the region.
They highlighted the importance of unified and joint strategies to tackle emerging challenges, stressing the need for high operational readiness and quick coordination in light of current regional security developments.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to institutionalize regular senior-level interactions through expanded joint exercises and exploration of multilateral platforms aimed at enhancing collective threat response mechanisms.
Ambassador Jiang praised the exceptional operational performance of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) personnel during the recent tension along the eastern border, calling it a testament to PAF’s professionalism and strong commitment to national security.
He also commended the PAF’s strategic capabilities and effective use of homegrown technologies and modern systems under its current leadership to defend national interests and deter emerging threats.
Reiterating China’s long-standing support, the Ambassador pledged comprehensive technical assistance to PAF to further enhance its aerial defence strength.
He further appreciated Pakistan’s pursuit of self-reliance, noting that PAF’s focus on indigenous development is beginning to show promising outcomes.
Jiang Zaidong emphasized that sustained efforts in domestic technological innovation would significantly advance Pakistan’s defence capabilities.
