China’s Unitree Robotics has unveiled plans to manufacture as many as 20,000 humanoid robots in 2026, marking a significant jump from its previous production levels. The expansion reflects growing global demand and rapid advancements in robotics engineering.
The company gained widespread attention after its robots performed complex martial arts routines during China’s Spring Festival Gala broadcast by China Central Television. The machines executed high jumps, fast running and coordinated movements, with the company stating that many actions were fully autonomous.
Industry observers say the production target signals China’s increasing competitiveness in the humanoid robotics sector. With improved speed, agility and artificial intelligence capabilities, Unitree aims to position itself as a leading global supplier in next-generation robotic systems.
