China has consistently supported resolving the Ukraine crisis through dialogue and negotiations and welcomes all initiatives aimed at achieving a ceasefire, considering it a crucial step toward peace, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated on Wednesday.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Mao was responding to a question regarding the recent phone conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to a White House statement, both leaders agreed that the three-year-long Ukraine conflict must conclude with a lasting peace and emphasized the importance of strengthening U.S.-Russia relations.
