China window, a Chinese cultural center in Peshawar, held a cake cutting ceremony to mark the 73rd national day of the People’s Republic of China yesterday.

A large number of poets, writers, senior journalists, businessmen and children participated in the ceremony. Special Assistant to Chief Minister (SACM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif was also present at the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, SACM felicitated Chinese people on their 73th National Day, saying that today’s ceremony is a reaffirmation of the commitment of long-standing relationship, love and friendship with the Chinese people.

“Pakistan-China are all weather friends and the friendship between the two neighbors is getting stronger and more sustainable. Both countries are time-tested friends and the friendship has been further strengthened over a long period of time despite global political dynamics,”he added.

Muhammad Saif affirmed that China supported Pakistan at every point. In response, Pakistan also stood by China’s side on many global issues.

“We need to benefit from China’s experiences. China has transformed itself with time and emerged as a global economic power.”

SACM further said that it is commendable to celebrate China’s National Day event at China Window here and appreciated the efforts of senior journalist Amjad Aziz Malik to this effect.

Bushra Farah, the presidential award-winning female poet, presented her poetry regarding Pakistan-China friendship while other speakers described the bilateral relations with China as historic.

The Chinese national day is being celebrated in different parts of Pakistan. Many activities have been witnessed starting from the beginning of September to mark the anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
