China has expressed its approval of the G7 foreign ministers’ vision for a positive and stable relationship between the G7 and China. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized the importance of implementing the stated vision to foster healthy relations based on mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit.
However, the spokesperson dismissed the G7’s accusations of “economic coercion” by labeling them as unfounded. Criticizing the G7, the spokesperson urged self-reflection on their part, pointing out concerns about the politicization and militarization of global trade.
Furthermore, the Chinese spokesperson strongly criticized the G7’s interference in China’s internal affairs, particularly regarding the South China Sea, Taiwan, and issues related to Xinjiang, Xizang, and Hong Kong.
The spokesperson called on the G7 to adhere to the principles of the United Nations Charter and the basic norms of international relations and advised them to focus on their own matters.
