He Lifeng revealed that the two countries had achieved several important understandings and agreed to create a formal mechanism for ongoing economic and trade consultations.

He added that both nations would soon finalize specific details and issue a joint statement on Monday summarizing the outcomes of their discussions.

Given current global dynamics, He noted, the international community paid close attention to this high-level meeting.
