China to host symposium on Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War” which will be attended by various delegates from across 30 countries.
A symposium focused on the ancient Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu and his famous work, “The Art of War,” is scheduled to take place in Beijing on December 5 and 6, as announced by a Chinese defense spokesperson on Thursday.
Wu Qian, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, informed reporters that more than 350 delegates from almost 30 countries had confirmed their attendance at the 10th International Symposium on Sun Tzu’s Art of War.
Sun Tzu, who lived during China’s Spring and Autumn period (770-476 BC), is believed to be the author of “The Art of War.” This work has had a profound impact on military strategy and tactics and continues to influence both Western and East Asian military thought and philosophy.
This year’s symposium, titled “Sun Tzu’s Art of War and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations,” will include six special sessions. The topics will cover subjects such as the modern cultural relevance of “The Art of War,” the application of Sun Tzu’s strategies in the age of artificial intelligence, and other related themes, as outlined by Wu.
