 China Three Gorges bags NFEH’s 15th annual CSR Awards

Pakistan and China flags together relations textile cloth, fabric texture

ISLAMABAD, Feb.25, – The National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) and the CSR Club of Pakistan organized the 15th Annual CSR Summit 2023 on February 21.

China Three Gorges South Asian Investment Ltd. (Three Gorges) was awarded in two categories: the Green Energy Initiative and Government Initiatives and Distributions. The awards recognized Three Gorges’ unwavering commitment towards green initiatives, community development, and corporate social responsibility, the company said.
NFEH is affiliated with the United Nations Environmental Program, the Ministry of Climate Change, and other government departments.

The awards were received by N.A. Zuberi, (Senior Advisor), Naeem Akhtar (General Manager), and Moaaz Awan (Senior Manager) on behalf of the Three Gorges.

In his presentation, N.A. Zuberi highlighted the Three Gorges’ steadfast commitment to community development, social awareness, and stakeholder participation at its project companies.

Last year, when flash floods ravaged the south of Pakistan, Three Gorges donated $650,000 to the government of Pakistan, fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and helping the people of Pakistan in their time of need.

Under the Biodiversity Management Plan, Karot Project is protecting and conserving the flora and fauna of the project area, with a special focus on the conservation of species of importance. Furthermore, national park management plans and sediment mining plans have also been developed.

In community development, the Karot project completed 14 projects in both Punjab and AJ&K for the shared benefit and welfare of the local community around the project, the company said.
