China reveals guidelines for furthering Trade Policy compliance with WTO rules, reaffirming commitment to opening up.
The General Office of the State Council has released new guidelines to enhance the alignment of China’s trade policies with World Trade Organization (WTO) regulations, reinforcing the country’s commitment to further opening up its economy.
According to the guidelines, a compliance assessment must be a fundamental requirement before implementing any new trade policies. Governments at all levels are mandated to evaluate proposed policies based on WTO agreements and China’s international commitments.
A Ministry of Commerce official highlighted that strengthening trade policy compliance will contribute to creating a world-class business environment and support the development of a unified national market.
By ensuring a transparent and non-discriminatory policy framework, China aims to facilitate the seamless movement of production factors, optimize resource allocation, and unlock broader market opportunities, the official added.
