China-Pakistan technological cooperation is moving beyond energy and infrastructure into sustainable urban development. Islamabad authorities have engaged Chinese investors to discuss electric vehicle (EV) charging networks and advanced construction technologies aimed at transforming the capital into a green model city.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) hosted a high-level meeting exploring collaboration on EV infrastructure, innovative housing solutions, and environmentally sustainable technologies. Plans include mandatory EV charging points at fuel stations, dedicated charging hubs across the city, and integration of electric mobility in urban planning.
Discussions also covered innovative housing technologies, including 3D-printed construction, which promise faster, cost-efficient, and eco-friendly housing. Chinese representatives highlighted global applications of these technologies, while CDA officials emphasized technology transfer, local skill development, and environmentally conscious urban expansion as key objectives.
