China-Pakistan leather industrial cooperation reaching new heights with a MoU signature for the first time.
At the recently concluded All China Leather Exhibition in Shanghai, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) and the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA), marking a significant step forward in high-level Sino-Pak leather industry collaboration.
This is the first time the China Leather Industry Association has signed an MoU with Pakistani counterparts. The agreement aims to strengthen ties, facilitate trade delegations, boost cooperation between businesses, and participate in leather industry expos.
The leather industry is vital to Pakistan’s economy as a key foreign exchange earner. China and Pakistan are seen as complementary in this sector, with China’s modern technologies improving Pakistan’s leather processing and product quality, while Pakistan offers advantages like abundant raw materials and low labor costs.
Recently, China-Pakistan interactions in the leather industry have grown more frequent. In August, the China-Pakistan Footwear B2B Meeting and Footwear Industry Expo were held in Lahore, and a Chinese delegation, organized by CLIA, visited Pakistan to explore further collaboration opportunities.
