China opposes forced displacement of Palestinians as stated by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian.
China has consistently maintained that “the Palestinians governing Palestine” should be the core principle guiding Gaza’s post-conflict administration, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated on Wednesday.
Speaking at a daily press briefing, Lin was responding to remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who suggested that the U.S. would “take over” and “own” Gaza after relocating its Palestinian residents to neighboring countries such as Jordan and Egypt.
Reaffirming China’s stance, Lin emphasized that “the Palestinians governing Palestine” remains the fundamental principle for Gaza’s governance after the conflict.
“We oppose any forced displacement of Gaza’s people and urge all relevant parties to use the ceasefire and post-conflict governance as an opportunity to steer the Palestinian issue back toward a political resolution based on the two-state solution, ensuring lasting peace in the Middle East,” he stated.
