China successfully launched its inaugural Type 076 next-generation amphibious assault ship, named the Sichuan, in Shanghai on Friday.
The vessel, named after China’s southwestern Sichuan Province, was independently developed and officially entered the water during a launch and naming ceremony. It has been assigned the hull number 51.
