Mohan Port, located in China’s Yunnan Province along the border with Laos, has recorded more than 415,000 cross-border entries and exits by travelers from ASEAN nations so far this year, representing a year-on-year rise exceeding 24 percent.
These ASEAN travelers make up over 45 percent of the total passenger traffic at the port, with tourism, family and friend visits, business trips, and conferences being the main reasons for travel.
Among ASEAN countries, Laos, Thailand, and Malaysia have contributed the highest number of travelers crossing through the Mohan Port.
In total, the port has handled upwards of 920,000 inbound and outbound passengers this year, reflecting an 11.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
