A reception was held in Beijing on Friday to commemorate the upcoming International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8.
During the event, Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin delivered a speech, encouraging the nation’s vast female population to contribute to the country’s progress and national rejuvenation by continuing to achieve new milestones.
Shen, who also serves as president of the All-China Women’s Federation, announced that China will co-host the Global Summit of Women with UN Women in Beijing this year. She emphasized China’s commitment to collaborating with global partners to create a better future for women and humanity.
The reception saw the participation of over 1,000 guests from both China and abroad, including diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations.
