China remains committed to fostering global connectivity by adhering to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, aiming to aid the modernization of Global South nations, according to a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson on Wednesday.
Connectivity is a key focus under the Belt and Road Initiative, aligning with the Global South’s goal of advancing development, spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated during a press briefing.
China recently introduced 15 measures to promote large-scale development in its western regions. Guo emphasized that the nation will synchronize efforts to establish an international logistics corridor, creating a comprehensive opening-up framework that links China to the global community via both land and sea.
Through higher-level and more sustainable development, China aims to create new opportunities for mutual growth. It also seeks to share the benefits of its high-quality growth and progressive openness with the global community, Guo added.
