The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday called on both India and Pakistan to remain restrained and avoid actions that could escalate tensions between the two neighboring countries.
Following India’s military strikes on targets in Pakistan earlier that morning—which were met with a strong Pakistani response, China expressed regret over India’s actions and voiced concern about the deteriorating situation.
In its statement, the ministry emphasized that India and Pakistan are not only each other’s neighbors but also neighbors of China.
Reiterating its opposition to all forms of terrorism, China urged both nations to prioritize peace and regional stability by remaining composed and acting responsibly.
