The “KAWA Ningbo” cargo ship, carrying over 1,700 containers filled with new-energy and other high-value goods, completed its non-stop journey in just 26 days, a significant improvement from the previous shipment time of 45 days.
Cong Wu, the consul general of the Chinese General Consulate in Hamburg, highlighted that the launch of the “China-Europe Express” route not only facilitates the exchange of goods between China and Europe but also contributes to stabilizing global product and supply chains, embodying the spirit of the Belt and Road initiative.
Cong further stated that the continued success of this route will create new opportunities for cooperation and inject energy into the economic growth of both regions.
Frank Doods, State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Transport, Construction, and Digitization, lauded the route for bringing valuable development opportunities to Wilhelmshaven and Lower Saxony, expressing hope for further strengthening economic ties between Germany and China.
The new route, which started with a partnership agreement at the China International Import Expo last year, began its first voyage from Ningbo-Zhoushan Port on December 30. It will operate monthly, ensuring regular freight exchanges between China and Europe.
