The Chinese and Cambodian militaries are set to carry out a joint military exercise in Cambodia during the second half of May, according to a statement made Thursday by a spokesperson from China’s Ministry of National Defense.
Zhang Xiaogang, the ministry’s spokesperson, announced that the exercise, named Golden Dragon-2025.will center on joint counter-terrorism efforts as well as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) missions.
He noted that the drills will take place on land, at sea, and in relevant airspace. The exercise will also feature cultural and sports exchanges, along with public vessel visits as part of broader engagement activities.
This marks the seventh joint exercise between China and Cambodia, underscoring the deepening military collaboration between the two countries.
According to Zhang, the exercise aims to enhance practical cooperation and further the development of an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.
