China aims to enhance legal safeguards for Belt and Road Initiative as stated by an official during an international forum.
China is dedicated to collaborating with Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner nations to strengthen cooperation in law enforcement, judicial affairs, and legal talent development, ensuring robust legal support for the BRI’s high-quality progress, an official stated.
Chen Wenqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the CPC Central Committee’s Commission for Political and Legal Affairs, made these remarks on Sunday during an international forum focused on BRI legal services.
Highlighting the BRI’s extensive network that links over 150 countries, Chen stressed that the rule of law is not only a vital foundation for international collaboration but also a key pillar supporting shared development.
In recent years, China has actively improved global law enforcement and judicial cooperation, taking practical measures such as setting up international commercial courts and launching pilot centers for international commercial arbitration, Chen noted.
He further stated that China is eager to collaborate with all parties to harmonize laws, policies, standards, and regulations while developing mechanisms for cross-border dispute resolution and legal talent exchange.
China also aims to integrate legal service resources to create a wider platform for multilateral cooperation among BRI nations, he added.
