In a noteworthy development, an Islamabad-based firm, Acrez Mark Private Limited, is set to establish a chemical factory in Gwadar Free Zone North (Phase II).
The firm’s ambitious plan includes the construction of a Phthalic Anhydride production plant, spanning 218 acres, according to the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA).
The estimated project cost is a substantial $83 million, with a production capacity of 40,000 tons per year, targeting the export of 4300 containers abroad. The project will require 3 megawatts of electricity and has future expansion plans that include the production of plasticisers.
