On October 25th in Beijing, Chairman of the Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, led a high-level delegation in a visit to the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) headquarters.
During the visit, the delegation engaged in extensive discussions with CIDCA Chairman Luo Zhaohui, with the goal of strengthening bilateral ties and promoting collaboration between Pakistan and China. The meeting, which took place at CIDCA headquarters, was marked by a spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding.
Chairman Sanjrani expressed his appreciation for China’s steadfast support of Pakistan’s development efforts and recognized the valuable contributions made by CIDCA in advancing development projects in Pakistan.
The discussions primarily centered on the multifaceted development initiatives in Pakistan, with a specific focus on parliamentary development. Chairman Sanjrani highlighted the essential role of the Parliament in shaping national policies and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fortifying its parliamentary system. The meeting reaffirmed their shared dedication to enhancing parliamentary capacity in Pakistan.
During the meeting, Chairman Sanjrani and CIDCA Chairman Luo Zhaohui explored the substantial opportunities for cooperation in the construction of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC) headquarters in Islamabad.
“The IPC headquarters is envisioned as a symbol of international parliamentary cooperation and diplomacy, providing a platform for lawmakers from around the world to come together and collaborate on common global objectives. This initiative underscores Pakistan’s commitment to promoting international unity and progress through the means of parliamentary diplomacy,” emphasized Sanjrani.
Both expressed their enthusiasm for this forward-looking project and agreed to continue discussions to further solidify the plans.
Chairman Luo Zhaohui, representing CIDCA, reiterated China’s ongoing support for Pakistan’s development and affirmed the agency’s dedication to providing resources, expertise, and technological assistance across various domains.
