On December 19, the Belt and Road Barter Trading Center of the China (Xiong’an) International Digital Barter Industrial Park was officially launched in Xiong’an New Area, China. This milestone event marked a significant advancement in cross-border barter trade and economic cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The event also saw the introduction of the Belt and Road National Barter Project, which focuses on three primary categories of goods: general commodities, capacity building, and smart agriculture products.
During the ceremony, 10 companies became the first to enter the Industrial Park, signing strategic cooperation agreements that amounted to RMB 4.5 billion for cross-border barter trade collaborations, marking a significant step in the development of the trade center.
Foreign representatives from several BRI countries, including Russia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, attended the event, highlighting the global reach and growing significance of the BRI.
The China (Xiong’an) International Digital Barter Industrial Park aims to create a modern, digitalized, and efficient barter trading system using advanced information technology. By providing one-stop services, reducing transaction costs, and enhancing trading efficiency, the park seeks to attract more businesses both domestically and internationally, fostering the professional growth of barter trade and boosting economic exchanges among BRI nations.
