The Consul General of Belarus in Guangzhou, Konstantin Golovko, held a meeting with the leadership of Guangda Business and Trade City, one of the largest textile clusters in southern China. According to Belarusian diplomats stationed in Guangzhou, the two sides discussed expanding cooperation in trade, manufacturing, and light industry.
During the meeting, the Belarusian side highlighted opportunities for collaboration with major enterprises from Belarus’ textile and leather sectors. In response, the leadership of Guangda Business and Trade City expressed readiness to host a delegation of Belarusian companies for deeper consultations and on-ground assessments. The visit will focus on identifying practical avenues for commercial partnerships, supply chain integration, and product diversification.
Guangda Business and Trade City spans 500,000 square meters and accommodates a wide range of businesses involved in apparel, footwear, leather goods, bags, and household chemical products—making it one of the most important commercial hubs for textile and light manufacturing in the region.
The Consulate General of Belarus in Guangzhou oversees a vast consular district covering five major Chinese regions: Guangdong, Guizhou, Hainan, Hunan, and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The combined area of this district reaches 1.23 million square kilometers with a population of around 332 million people, representing nearly 23 percent of China’s population.
Guangzhou, the central city within this jurisdiction, is home to approximately 14 million residents and serves as a major commercial center linking domestic and international markets.
The Consulate General’s core responsibilities include strengthening trade, investment, and industrial ties between Belarus and Chinese provinces, while also safeguarding the rights of Belarusian nationals and providing consular services to Chinese citizens.
