Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Mohammad Iqbal Hussain, has revealed plans to launch direct flights between Bangladesh and Pakistan, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations.
During a press conference in Peshawar on Saturday, Hussain highlighted the long-standing ties between the two nations and stressed the significance of direct air connectivity to enhance travel and communication.
He stated that the introduction of direct flights would boost collaboration in multiple sectors, including tourism, education, and trade. He also emphasized the growing diplomatic and commercial relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan, expressing optimism about their continued expansion.
Hussain reaffirmed Bangladesh’s dedication to freedom of speech, pointing out the role of social media in empowering the younger generation to advocate for their rights, fostering a strong culture of free expression in the country.
Additionally, he highlighted investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in the healthcare and industrial sectors, and encouraged businesses to capitalize on these prospects.
The High Commissioner also noted the demand for Bangladeshi products in Pakistan, with trade being conducted through shipping routes between Chittagong and Karachi, although the trade volume remains relatively low.
Discussing Bangladesh’s upcoming elections, he reiterated the country’s commitment to prioritizing economic development.
In conclusion, he praised the Pakistan Air Force for its exceptional expertise in the defense sector.
